The gas-data platform that began as an empty repository
A greenfield platform that processes gas measurement data for more than a thousand industrial meters, every day. I defined the component architecture and engineering standards for the React + TypeScript build — scaffolding, build configuration, lint governance, code-structure conventions — adopted by a 12-member team, and represented the engineering side in architecture decisions with the client’s stakeholders.
- Designed event-driven, serverless ingestion on AWS — Node.js Lambdas fed by S3 triggers, EventBridge schedules and SQS queues, integrated with the client’s billing system.
- Migrated five business-critical years out of a 15-year-old SQL Server estate into PostgreSQL on AWS — schema mapping, cutover, validation, zero data loss.
- Coded three major modules hands-on while running PR reviews and mentoring; primary technical contact for the client on requirements and demos.
- Stabilised the platform through hypercare and storm support — 10+ production incidents triaged and root-caused live, then handed over to the client’s own operators through structured knowledge transfer.
- Drove the CI/CD migration from Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions across three repositories.
